“Our truest response to the irrationality of the                                             world is to paint or sing or write, for only in
such response  do we find truth.”                                                                                           ― Madeleine L'Engle

The day after my hero Madeleine L’Engle died, I reassessed my writing-for-myself habits. It was time to up my game. I attended incredible writing conferences where I found amazing instructors. I joined supportive organizations, including the Society for Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCWBI), Sisters in Crime, Mystery Writers of America, and International Thriller Writers, ASU's Desert Night Rising Stars, Writers Police Academy, University of Iowa's Summer Festival of Writing, and my latest was B.K. Loren's workshop at the Lighthouse in Denver CO.

Half my life, I live in Iowa's prairie land with my horse, a ghost cat named Lex Luther, and a blue merle Sheltie named CrackerJack.  The other half, I live in my writer's studio in Scottsdale AZ.
